Job Title: Senior Counsellor/Practice Supervisor
Salary: GCA Salary Grade 7 £27,851 – £30,335 (pro rata)
Hours: Part-time – 21 hours per week
Flexible working, part-time hours, or job-sharing arrangements will be considered for the right candidate
GCA deliver services over 6 days per week
Please note; In order to ensure the organisation can offer both male and female counsellors to clients, there is a genuine occupational requirement to ensure that we recruit a male Senior Counsellor/Practice Supervisor and therefore this post is only open to men (exempt under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010).
Role: The Senior Counsellor/Practice Supervisor will provide a counselling, advice and information service for individuals aged 16 and over with problematic alcohol use or affected by other people’s problematic alcohol use. Also manage and coordinate a high-quality Practice Supervision service within GCA, ensuring all volunteers and students receive appropriate practice supervision, support and guidance. The service will be provided from North Claremont Street Office and community settings.

Glasgow Council on Alcohol (GCA) has been working with individuals, families, and communities across Glasgow and beyond since 1965, tackling the causes and effects of alcohol misuse. We believe that health and wellbeing are vital to individuals, family relationships and communities, and recognise that alcohol is an issue that can affect everyone, regardless of their background.
Tutor
GCA is looking to attract experienced tutors who are COSCA accredited as trainers to deliver the COSCA counselling skills modules.
GCA would guarantee flexible hours per month at a rate of £20 per hour.
30 hours teaching per module
4 module
120 hours
Plus 12 hours marking per module
4 module
48 hours
Total hours 168=£3360

The course would be initially delivered over zoom due to current training requirements
GCA is one of the founding COSCA members and adheres to the COSCA ethical framework for good practice in counselling, psychotherapy and counselling skills. We also ensure that all practitioners employed by GCA are members of COSCA and suitably qualified.
Additionally the individual will be required to hold a PVG registration and have personal liability insurance.
