Women’s Service

At GCA, we are working with women across Glasgow city-wide, using three different approaches. All of our Women’s programmes are completely free of charge and located across various community settings. You can join any of our women’s programmes by simply getting in touch with our Resilient Communities Team. Alternatively, if you are an organisation and would like us to deliver a programme at your venue for free, then get in touch.

Being Connected
Our aim is to connect women across Glasgow to general information regarding alcohol and drugs.  This can also involve signposting and referrals to support services.

Our Being Connected approach is aimed at engaging women through education, awareness and social media.  This work involves delivering gender-specific information at a host of Glasgow city venues such as healthcare centres; creating and developing a women specific webpage through meaningful consultations with Glasgow women and getting involved in campaigns such as ’16 Days of Action’ and ‘International Women’s Day’.

Staying Safe with Positive Choices
Our aim is to encourage women to stay safe and make positive choices that enhance their wellbeing.

Our Staying Safe With Positive Choices programme is aimed at engaging women through our flexible five module programme, including alcohol and drug information, harm reduction, resilience and self-esteem.  These programmes are delivered to a range of women’s community groups across Glasgow city, over a three week period.  They are interactive and activity-based programmes.

Women Reconnecting
Our aim is to reconnect women to information, supports and services that will enhance their mental health.

Our Women Reconnecting programme is aimed at reconnecting women to options, skills, techniques and supports that might develop and enhance their mental health.  The Women Reconnecting programme is delivered across seven weeks and explores the concepts of resilience, self-esteem and self-care.  The programme is based on the NHS Healthy Mind Platter and tailored to meet different group needs.
