GCA offer Introductory to advanced COSCA Counselling training courses. We currently run the following courses.

The Diploma course is designed for those who wish to develop their skills in a therapeutic context. This course will be delivered in a supportive learning environment for those wishing to return to learning, advance skills in the field or prepare for a career change. This course is aimed at counsellors with a Diploma in Counselling or counselling skills users with a COSCA Counselling Skills certificate or equivalent as their training. It is designed to equip the less experienced practitioner with a better understanding and use of supervision, as well as to provide a significant first step for the longer trained and more experienced practitioner in their role as supervisors. The COSCA Counselling Skills course is a general introduction to counselling course, aimed at individuals working or volunteering in a helping role or anyone wishing to pursue a career in counselling or psychotherapy. This course will run online via Zoom, 8 weekends for 4 months from April to August. [Book now]

This COSCA course is aimed at those who have already completed the COSCA Counselling Skills Certificate Course or equivalent. The overall format and layout is similar to that of the COSCA Counselling Skills Certificate. [Book now]

This course provides a professionally recognised qualification and a thorough grounding in the practical and theoretical aspects of running a group using group counselling skills. The focus of this course is the development of participants’ counselling skills within a group setting. [Book now]

Where does the training take place
We have a bespoke training room at our main offices in Claremont Street. Specific training can take place at your own organisation or workplace.
