Glasgow Council on Alcohol (GCA) is a voluntary organisation working to reduce the harm caused by alcohol misuse by providing a range of high quality advice, information, counselling, group work, prevention and education and training services.

The Counselling Service provides a range of counselling, advice and information for young people (12 years plus), adults and couples experiencing or affected by alcohol misuse in our City Centre base and a variety of Community Locations.

GCA Is looking for Volunteer Alcohol Counsellors to work within a long established charity for 3 to 4 hours per week.

While you are volunteering for GCA we will provide high quality Training, Support and Supervision with the opportunity to learn new skills.

Minimum Requirements

It is essential that applicants will have successfully completed all four modules of the COSCA Certificate in Counselling skills.

Potential volunteers will be asked to attend a selection day and if successful undertake our 6 day Advanced Alcohol training course as part of the selection process.
