Salary: Starting Salary GCA GRADE 7 – £27,851 (pro rata equates to £5,570.20)
Hours: Part Time – 7 hours per week. Full flexibility of working hours.

GCA deliver services over 6 days per week

Role: The Practice Supervisor will manage and coordinate a high quality Practice Supervision service within GCA, ensuring all volunteers, PHD students and alcohol counsellors receive appropriate practice supervision, support and guidance.

Glasgow Council on Alcohol (GCA) has been working with individuals, families, and communities across Glasgow and beyond since 1965, tackling the causes and effects of alcohol misuse. We believe that health and wellbeing are vital to individuals, family relationships and communities, and recognise that alcohol is an issue that can affect everyone, regardless of their background.

Tutor

GCA is looking to attract experienced accredited Tutors who are COSCA registered to deliver the COSCA counselling skills modules.

GCA would guarantee flexible hours per month at a rate of £20 per hour.

The course would be initially delivered over zoom due to current training requirements

GCA is one of the founding COSCA members and adheres to the COSCA ethical framework for good practice in counselling, psychotherapy and counselling skills. We also ensure that all practitioners employed by GCA are members of COSCA and suitably qualified.

The individuals interested in working with GCA must be registered as an accredited Counsellor with COSCA/BACP/BABCP/UKCP.

Additionally the individual will be required to hold a PVG registration and have personal liability insurance.

Employability Support Worker (Female)
Salary: £18,074 per annum (Scale £18,074 to £18,907)
Hours: 35 hours over 5 days (Fixed Term till end March 2023)

Please note; GCA has a high percentage of female participants and due to the nature of the referrals we receive there is a genuine occupational requirement to ensure that we recruit a Female Employability Support Worker. This would be a claim from GCA as an exception under the Equality Act 2010.

Role: The Employability Support Worker is a role within the Elevate-Glasgow PSP team which offers a person-centred approach and service for individuals in recovery.

The Employability Support Worker will make a real impact to individuals’ day to day lives as they uniquely tailor their personal development, offer emotional and practical support and set realistic goals as part of their journey to employability opportunities.

The Employability Support Worker will be employed by, and based in, Glasgow Council on Alcohol (GCA). GCA is the lead partner of the PSP.

Experience in a previous employability/social/support work environment or voluntary sector role is essential. Candidates must have good communication skills, be flexible and have a positive attitude.

You will require a PVG check through Disclosure Scotland. The job is dependent on suitable references.

Organisation Profile: Elevate-Glasgow is a Public Social Partnership (PSP). Its aim is to improve the design of services for people in recovery from substance misuse regarding their employability and to enhance partner agencies’ commitment to collaboration and innovation in the delivery of support services.

Public Social Partnerships (PSPs) are strategic partnering arrangements, through which the public sector can collaborate with third sector organisations (voluntary, charity and social enterprise organisations) to share responsibility for designing services.  A key principle of this approach is that services are designed co-productively with service users.

Role: The Community Alcohol Brief Intervention Practitioner will provide a community based Alcohol Brief Intervention service in the wider community and primary care settings in Glasgow in partnership with other statutory, voluntary and community agencies in the area.
